Wow, I totally lost track of time and never shared my final results of the South Beach - phase 1.
So it usually is supposed to last 14 days... I readily admit that I was mentally, then phsycially done at 12!
Results:
Weight lost - 6.5 lbs
Inches lost - 5 inches
Sugar cravings - It is SO much easier to leave out the bread/starch when planning meals once you have been avoiding them completely for 2 weeks. SO, I have gone back to using as much whole wheat/grains as I can when I cook. I even cooked whole wheat pancakes the other day, of which the boys ate 3 each. Those boys NEVER asked for a snack that entire morning, and didn't even eat lunch until almost 1:00!!
Chocolate cravings - Okay, THIS is still my main temptation. I can't kick it. But, at least now I am in control of it.
I am very glad to have fruits back in the diet, as well as oats... There is a KILLER oat muffin recipe that we LOVE! (filling, fibrous, freezes well... like all my f's!?_
So there you go. Goal achieved.

And I really want that muffin recipe. Please send it! I just made some more strawberry jam today so now I need that muffin recipe to go with it. It's like that book I used to read when I was little: give a moose a muffin....... and he'll need some jam to go with it. :) hehe

Great Job Lindsey! Those are fantastic results but I think that the best part is that you feel in control of your sugar cravings. I need to get your tips on this program, my cravings are out of control and I always give in.
